The Lingfield Equine Certificates are available to all those who successfully complete the final Assignment / Set Work in a course. Intermediate Diplomas are awarded on completion of the relevant programme. Lingfield Certificates: At the end of any long or short course, the final Assignment or Set Work is presented to you as an exam. You may take this in house exam, which is not overseen, and opt to gain the Lingfield Certificates mentioned above. In line with many other college ’in house’ certification, we take students on trust that they will answer as though they were in an exam situation. These certificates are not professional qualifications but are well recognised in the industry as being a worthwhile qualification providing the theory for those aiming for the professional exams - BHS Stages 1-3 and ABRS Grooms and Instructors qualifications . In the Level 1 long course, for those opting for a certificate, there is one short practical session which must be overseen by a local instructor. The relevant paperwork must be signed off prior to certification. Apart from this, no other practical work needs to be undertaken with an instructor or trainer We do however, offer suggestions for practical workshops, and included in some courses are practical research and assignments.
Intermediate Diplomas: Are available to those who complete a full Intermediate Diploma programme. Some of the programmes include a specialist Short Course such as Equine Psychology & Behaviour, Feeding & Nutrition or Livery Yard Management. These offer the opportunity to gain a Lingfield Certificates on completion of each element of the programme as well as the Intermediate Diploma itself on final completion the full programme: Once again though we stress that being theory only they are not professional qualifications but are well recognised in the industry as being a worthwhile amateur qualification providing the theory for those aiming for the professional exams. "Intermediate Diploma (Psych)", "Intermedaite Diploma (Feeding)" or the "Intermediate Diploma in Equine Livery Yard Management" All Diplomas and Certificates require payment of a small administration/marking fee of £15 (£17 overseas). This is payable at the end of each element / programme. |
