Changes to Horse Passports

As from 1st July changes were introduced to equine passport issuing regulations.
Every equine being issued with a new passport must, from this date be microchipped.

Passport issuing organisations will no longer accept any application unless it includes the microchip details. This applies to every equine, from foal to mature horses and donkeys etc.

Question: Does this mean my horse has to be microchipped?
No.If he or she already has a passport it is not compulsory to have him/her microchipped.
