New mirror laws for lorries
This includes Horse Boxes of over 3.5 tonnes.

An EU directive has brought in a new regulation stating that any vehicle registered after 1st January 2000 which is over 3.5 tonnes much now be fitted with a new wide angle mirror and a kerb mirror (and this is in addition to the front view mirror introduced in Jan 2007). For more details see www.prprescue.com.

The reason for this new regulation is because in the past there have been so many accidents and deaths to pedestrians, motorbikes and cyclists caused as a result of the lorry driver being unable to see them when turning at junctions.
