We offer a ‘Pay As You Go’ system if you do not wish to pay for the modules upfront. This means that you will not benefit from the automated course files delivery (as you must pay for each module before you are granted access), but it does help to spread the cost. This works out slightly more expensive in the long run as it involves an administrative fee, but we understand that for many paying for the courses upfront may not be an option, and we never want finances to stand between you and your learning. Please note that we do not offer Pay As You Go for any of our Bundle deals. If you are interested in enrolling as a Pay As You Go student, please email the office at lingfieldcourses@horse-care.uk.

Yes, all we need from you is an email address to which we can send the course material. This address must be the one you complete on the student details when you enrol.  All of the course materials including the final assignment and quizzes are accessible on a smart phone, but the user experience is much better using a laptop or tablet.

Although you will likely need a word processing software in order to complete your research projects, you do not necessarily need to use Microsoft Word for this. Google Docs is a free, viable alternative to Word. You do not need a Gmail email account to use it, but you will need to create a Google account in order to be able to access the cloud based Google software suite.

Google Docs can be accessed on a smartphone, tablet and laptop.

If you are having technical difficulties using the course files, please contact Cat – lingfieldcourses@horse-care.uk.

Each module contains different research and work projects – some of which involve answering questions or gathering data. The better you carry out the research projects and the more information you gather, the more straightforward you will find the final assignments. Although you could in theory complete all of the quizzes and and gain access to all of the course material right away, we do not recommend this is how you undertake the course as you will not learn the information effectively. We recommend working through the course material in your own time, engaging with your tutor as and when you need their assistance, and completing all of the projects in each module in full before progressing.

Once you reach the final assignment, we recommend setting aside a couple of hours to complete it in full. Once you submit your final assignment, it is passed to your tutor for marking. Depending on the time of year and their workload, we will aim to get the assignment marked and back to you within two weeks of submission, but in busy periods this may take longer. We will communicate with you throughout to manage expectations.

When you have successfully completed all of the quizzes, module work, and final assignment, we will send back your work with your tutor’s comments or guidance. We will also send you your digital certificate which is evidence of the completion of the course. Certificates for UKRS courses will be delivered separately to the final assignment marks, as they must be produced externally.

You can take a long break of up to 12 months but we do ask that you contact us every 6 months to let us know that you still wish to continue with your course.

For the majority of courses, providing you contact us every 6 months the course will remain open for you. However, you must have contacted us and requested at least one course file within the initial year of enrolment.

After 1 years without any contact we assume the course has been terminated by the student.  If you leave it longer than 1 year year for one calendar month only you may reinstate by paying a re-instatement fee to set it running again.  All it takes to keep your course up and running is a quick contact every 6 months to say you are still keen to complete it but you are busy right now.

For courses accredited by the UKRS, we are require to set a completion date if there is no engagement for over 6 months. If you have extenuating circumstances which mean that you are struggling to complete, please contact us to discuss your options.

Access to the research folder is currently administered manually, and while we aim to add everyone within 24 hours of signing up, depending upon when you enrol it may take slightly longer. Once you have been given access, you will be emailed an access link. If you have not set up your email address as a Microsoft account, you will be invited to do so. Once this is done, you will have access. If you are having difficulty setting up a Microsoft account with your email address, this page contains helpful information. If you are still having difficulty, please email Cat – lingfieldcourses@horse-care.uk.
