Co-author and Tutor for the Equine Psychology & Behaviour course and author of the new Accredited Livery Yard Managers course. Hannah joined the Linfield Instructor Group in 2005.
Hannah Haskew has been a valued member of the Lingfield Instructor Group since 2005. She co-authored the Equine Psychology & Behaviour course and is the author of the Accredited Livery Yard Managers course.
Hannah holds a BSc in Equine Sports Science from Nottingham Trent University and had a special interest in psychology during her studies. Paula Clements invited Hannah to help develop the Equine Psychology & Behaviour course, where she expanded and updated the original materials produced by Nicki Morgan BSc MA.
Over the years, Hannah’s career has followed a rich and evolving path. After college, she gained her BHS Level 3 Coach qualification and her equine science degree, before later qualifying in equine sports massage therapy, as a McTimoney animal chiropractor, and then finally also as a veterinary physiotherapist. Since 2003, she has run her own thriving equine practice in Derbyshire while also helping to train the next generation of professionals from 2012 onwards as an accredited clinical educator and placement provider for veterinary physiotherapy degree students.
Her undergraduate research and thesis won the prestigious national Eqvalan Thesis of the Year competition, which she presented at the National Equine Forum at the Royal Veterinary College in London.
For her Master’s project, she worked with horses at Derby College Equestrian Centre, researching the use of Kinesio Tape on horses’ hocks to evaluate its effects on joint flexion.
Based in Derbyshire, Hannah is a respected professional and educator in her field. She runs Midlands Veterinary Physiotherapy (www.midlandsvetphysio.co.uk), where she combines hands-on clinical practice with mentoring and training other physiotherapists.
Hannah also brings extensive practical experience. A long-time horse owner herself, she has worked on eventing, showjumping, and dressage yards, from grassroots to Olympic level, throughout the early years of her career. She has managed and worked on a variety of yards, including those of Olympic team members, giving her broad, real-world experience in yard management.
Her veterinary physiotherapy clients span every level, from working with retired companions and leisure horses, to HOYS champions and international competitors. Today, Hannah’s special interests lie in equine rehabilitation, the links between pain and behaviour, and the psychology underpinning different training and management techniques.
Since joining the Lingfield team in 2005, Hannah has contributed her expertise to the development of new courses and strategic planning. She worked closely with Paula Clements on many projects and continues to serve as an author, tutor, and consultant for the team.
Hannah is professionally regulated by the Register of Animal Musculoskeletal Practitioners (RAMP) and the Animal Health Professions’ Register (AHPR), and adheres to their codes of conduct, along with those for coaching professionals.
We’re extremely fortunate to have Hannah Haskew on the Lingfield team: her depth of knowledge, commitment to equine welfare, and supportive teaching approach embody everything Lingfield stands for.
